Debbie Moore: I was born in Seattle and have lived in the area for most of my life. I have lived mostly on the eastside, living in Renton, Issaquah and Sammamish. Brian and I moved to Ballard in April of 2022 to be closer to our then 11 month old granddaughter. We have enjoyed being able to spend considerable amounts of time with her and were blessed with a grandson right before Christmas!
I stayed home to raise my two boys, who are now adults with families of their own. My career involved working at the local Catholic Church, which I attended, as the Faith Formation Secretary. I then went on to be the Registrar at the middle school my sons attended, then a Paralegal for a number of years working in Estate Planning and Family Law.
Three years ago, after attending the Catholic Church for most of my life, Brian and I decided to check out the local Episcopal Church in Sammamish. It met all the criteria of things I was missing at Church and we happily stayed. We then joined St. Lukes in April of this year, after participating in the Spiritual Pilgrimage. Since moving to Ballard we have spent one morning a week serving at Edible Hope and I have been privileged to work with other members of St. Luke’s on the Stewardship committee this year. I look forward to the opportunity to serve on the Bishop’s Committee.
Susan Young came to St Luke’s in 1980 where she met Jesus and Holy Spirit. Wherever she has worshiped, St Luke’s has always been her spiritual home. She has been a volunteer with Edible Hope and is currently serving with the Sunday morning prayer team and on the Land Stewardship committee. Susan cares for her 2 youngest grandchildren on a regular basis, a joy and hard work. She lives in Ballard with her husband of 51 years, Chris. They live with a deaf, blind elderly cocker spaniel and two very rambunctious little boy dogs who are mixed goof balls.
Katie Lundberg was introduced to St. Luke’s in 2017 and knew immediately it was the place for her. During the week she is a third grade teacher at Ruby Bridges Elementary in Woodinville. She has a background in special education and is passionate about the inclusion that is happening at her school. Katie grew up participating in church in a wide variety of ways and is excited to be serving as the Treasurer at St. Luke.
