Attention Parents, Kiddos, and everyone who loves them!
As of Sunday April 16 Kids Church is back in business! We always welcome kids to stay in the worship service with their parents and enjoy the play area. We also want to provide the option for kids to spend the first half of worship–from the beginning of the service to the passing of the peace–together at Kid’s Church. With the help of our fabulous childcare provider Elanor and at least one additional adult volunteer, and cameos from the clergy, we have activities planned just for kids.
Each Sunday we’ll have someone to greet families and invite kids downstairs for Kids Church. They’ll enjoy special activities and stories, then return upstairs in time to experience communion with the congregation.
We are still looking for adult volunteers for a regular rotation, requiring no more than one Sunday per month each. Lesson and activity materials will be provided, as will the links to our online training, Safeguarding God’s Children.
In addition to volunteering, we’d love to offer two additional opportunities for the wider St. Luke’s Community to assist in the pilot of our Kids Church program:
Books! You can help us purchase some new children’s books with sound theology and beautiful illustrations at our Amazon wish list.
Work Day! On Sunday, May 28th, after celebrating Pentecost in our liturgical red, anyone who’d like to help spiff up our Kid’s Church room as well as our kid’s worship area is welcome to join! After coffee hour, Mother Hillary will put on some music and we’ll organize and clean the spaces for a few hours. Stick around after the work party to join Mother Hillary for a late lunch/early dinner at a local, to-be-determined Ballard restaurant!
