The St. Luke’s Annual Meeting is happening Sunday January 19, following the worship service. We will meet in person and meeting packets will be available in print and as a pdf online. Everyone is invited to participate as we elect new leadership, hear an update on our development project, and share appreciations. Bring a hot dish, a salad or side (or even a box of crackers), and we will begin at 11:30 with a meal together.

Meet the Bishop’s Committee Candidates

Ryan Murphy is the devoted father of Liam and Emmy and loving husband of Elizabeth. After graduating college, Ryan, who was raised Roman Catholic, spent nearly a decade working alongside priests and nuns. During this time he helped raise children at an orphanage in rural Honduras, and later advocated for social justice issues as a faith-based lobbyist in Washington, D.C.

Though Ryan and Elizabeth eventually found themselves disillusioned with the Catholic Church, their faith remained strong. Seeking a spiritual home that aligned with their religious convictions, the Murphys joined Saint Luke’s in 2023, where they have been active members ever since. The couple was confirmed in the Episcopal Church last year and looks forward to baptizing their seven-month-old daughter Emmy in early 2025.

Garet Nenninger has attended St. Luke’s since 2019. Although he has lived in many parts of the country and also overseas, he has called Seattle home since he arrived here in 1996. He has three adult children, all born in Seattle: the oldest two moved away and have since returned, while the youngest currently resides in Japan. Garet is an electrical engineering manager for a technology company in downtown Seattle. For fun, Garet spends time practicing aerial circus, is a black belt in karate, and enjoys woodworking and various crafts.

Garet was previously a member of the St. Luke Bishop’s Committee from 2021-2023 and looks forward to the exciting years ahead for our community.

Bernadette Walcott | I immigrated to Albany, NY, from South America and began my career in healthcare, where I worked for 40 years in various roles within the insurance industry. After moving to Seattle in 2013, I continued my professional journey, retiring in 2019 as a Systems Analyst.

Since settling in Seattle, I’ve been an active member at St. Luke’s where my involvement has been deeply fulfilling. I began volunteering with Edible Hope in 2015 and have continued this work to the present day. I served on the B C from 2015 to 2017, I’m currently a delegate to the annual Diocesan Convention, and proudly contribute as a member of the Altar Guild. Most recently, I completed training to become a Eucharistic Minister, further deepening my connection to the church and its mission.

Through these experiences, I’ve found purpose in supporting my community and faith.
